Imperfect C Practical Solutions For Reallife Programming

It's an eleven year old book, but one I always had my eyes on. I finally bought it in 2015, expecting to be wowed by a somewhat underrated classic, going by how often it finds mention in the literature.

As a developer with well over 10 years of professional experience I have to say I'm surprised at the great reviews this book is getting. I'm 12 chapters in and haven't read anything all that interesting, and certainly nothing practically useful.

Aside from everyone has already mentioned, I found the footnotes to be most entertaining, the book is best read at a quiet afternoon with a cup of tea and BBQ.Here is example on p.
