You gotta love Charles Paris. Second rate actor he may be; alcoholic too, but he gets the bad guy every time, and draws you into the world of the theatre along with it all.

It's good to have Charles Paris back. Simon Brett, when writing as the omniscient author is on target and often amusing in his observations about such things as "reality TV.

Simon Brett and his actor-character, Charles Paris, are long-time favourites for many mystery fans. Readers who like live theatre and who keep up with its conventions and changes will particularly like the Charles Paris mysteries.
